Smoked Butternut Squash
Hickory Smoked Butternut Squash
- 2 large butternut squash
- 4 cubes butter about 1/4 or 1/8 of a stick
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Load smoker with hickory wood and preheat to a medium low setting
Slice butternut squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
Place a generous pat of butter in the hole where the seeds were.
Sprinkle with brown sugar
Place squash in smoker cage or on smoker shelves (depending on your smoker)
Cook until desired firmness (about 30-60 minutes)
Scoop out butternut squash into a serving bowl and discard the shell/skin
